BAG SHORT-CIRCUITED TO BATT (DTC CODE B0103 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 6)

1. Turn the starter key to the "LOCK" position. After a lapse of more than 90 seconds, remove the steering column cover and disconnect the connection of the yellow connector of the spiral cable (SRC) at the lower part of the steering column.
   
2. Using the diagnosis monitor, delete the past malfunction code and then output the present malfunction code again.

   Output of diagnosis monitor code 3: Proceed to steps under YES.
   Output of diagnosis monitor code 6: Proceed to steps under NO.

NO Go to [3]Measuring voltage between terminals.

YES Go To [2]Measuring voltage between terminals.

1. Turn the starter key to the "LOCK" position, wait for more than 90 seconds, and remove the air bag module.
   
2. Turn the starter key "ON" and measure voltage between the terminal of the yellow connector on the inflator side of the steering column spiral cable and the body GND.
   Standard value: 0 V
   

   Standard value: 0 V

NO Spiral cable abnormality

YES Air bag module abnormality

1. Turn the starter key to the "LOCK" position, wait for more than 90 seconds, and disconnect the connection of the yellow connector of the air bag ECU.
   
2. Turn the starter key "ON" and measure voltage between the terminal of the yellow connector of the cab main harness at the lower part of the steering column and the body GND.
   

   Standard value: 0 V

NO Cab main harness abnormality

YES Air bag ECU abnormality

1. Confirm the DTC B0103 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC B0103 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

B0103 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
