DISCONNECTION AND LINE-TO-LINE SHORT-CIRCUIT IN THE WHEEL SENSOR (LEFT, FRONTWARD) [DTC CODE: P0106, MALFUNCTION CODE: 4-2 (4)]

1. Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position and disconnect the ABS ECU 18 pin connector.
2. Connect a tester to the 15th and 14th terminals of the 18 pin connector (vehicle harness side). Measure voltage between these two terminals when a tire makes one revolution in 5 seconds.
   
   

   
   

   Standard value: 150-1,999 mV (AC voltage range)

NO Proceed to [2] Measuring resistance between terminals

YES Normal now. Short-lived disconnection or short-circuit is likely to have occurred in the harness between the ABS ECU and the wheel sensor (left, frontward). Inspect the harness and connectors.

1. Measure resistance between the 14th and 15th terminals of the 18 pin connector (vehicle harness side).
   
   
   

   Standard value: 1.0-1.3 kΩ
   

NO Proceed to [3] Measuring resistance between sensor terminals.

YES Normal now. Short-lived disconnection or short-circuit is likely to have occurred in the harness between the ABS ECU and the wheel sensor (left, frontward). Inspect the harness and connectors.

 

1. Disconnect the wheel sensor (left, frontward) connector and measure resistance between terminals of the sensor connector.
   
   

   Standard value: 1.0-1.3 kΩ

NO Internal disconnection or short-circuit in the wheel sensor (left, frontward) Replace the wheel sensor.

YES Normal now. Short-lived disconnection or short-circuit is likely to have occurred in the harness between the ABS ECU and the wheel sensor (left, frontward). Inspect the harness and connectors.

1. Confirm the DTC P0106 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P0106 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

P0106 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
