MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS BY WARNING LIGHT

ILLUMINATING LIGHT	CAUSE OF MALFUNCTION	FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
ABS warning light is lit under the vehicle running condition.	POWER SUPPLY RELATED Fuse burned out. Wire harness connector disconnected. Bad contact with wire harness. Wire broken in wire harness. Low battery voltage.	ABS all system not operating. (As normal braking operation)
	WHEEL SENSOR RELATED Sensor clearance too wide. Bad sensor unit. Broken wire in wire harness. Wire harness connector disconnected or bad contact.	ABS all system not operating. (As normal braking operation)
	ABS ACTUATOR RELATED Wire broken or short circuit in solenoid coil. Broken wire in wire harness of ABS actuator, wire harness connector disconnected, bad contact.	ABS all system not operating. (As normal braking operation)
	ECU Internal malfunction in ECU.	ABS all system not operating. (As normal braking operation)

ABS warning light will continue to be lit even when any abnormal condition is seen in ABS mechanism for a while and come back to the normal condition.
In this case, it can be reset by stopping the vehicle and turning the starter key on "LOCK".
