MALFUNCTION OF IDLE SWITCH
(DTC CODE P0510 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 42)

1. Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position and connect the signal check harness.
2. Turn the starter key "ON" and measure voltage between the terminals V76 and V79.

   

   Accelerator pedal	Voltage (V)
   Release	19 or more
   Full throttle	1 or less

NO Go to [2] Measuring resistance between switch terminals.	YES Fault in engine ECU

1. Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position and disconnect the idle switch connector.
2. Measure resistance between the 1st and 2nd terminals of the idle switch connector (component side).

   

   Accelerator pedal	Resistance (Ω)
   Release	2 or less
   Full throttle	∞

NO Fault in idle switch	YES Fault in harness and/or actuator relay

1. Confirm the DTC P0510 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P0510 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

P0510 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
